Clean water should never be the difference between life and death.
The Cause International funds and installs water filtration and access systems in communities without access, because clean water is a human right, not a privilege.
The world's oldest emergency is still happening.
For billions of people, the water that comes out of the ground can make their children sick, or worse. Distance to safe water decides who goes to school, who stays healthy, and who gets a future.
people worldwide still lack access to safely managed drinking water.
children under five die every day from illnesses linked to unsafe water and sanitation.
We fund and install water filtration systems in the communities the world has overlooked, turning a basic human right into a lived reality, one community at a time.
A world where no family measures distance in miles walked for water, and no child's future is decided by the water source they were born near.
Built to last, not to launch.
Identify
We identify communities lacking reliable access to clean water, and listen first.
Fund and Deliver
We fund and deliver filtration and access systems built for local, long-term use, from ceramic filters to solar-powered boreholes.
Partner
We partner with communities to maintain systems for generations, not just seasons.
It started with 512 pairs of socks.
The Cause International started in a dorm room, not a boardroom. In 2017, a small sock-selling operation became the seed capital for our first project: ceramic water filters delivered to three rural schools in Guatemala.
What started as one campaign became a mission built around a simple belief: clean water should never be the difference between life and death.
Since that first project in Guatemala, we've installed a solar-powered borehole in Matchakos, Kenya, brought rainwater harvesting systems and medical screenings to Yaxe, Oaxaca in Mexico, and are currently powering a solar borehole in Dwenantwi, Asamankase, Ghana.
Four countries. One mission. Clean water where it didn't exist before. We're just getting started.
Real dates. Real places. Real water.
Every project below exists. You can visit it, and the community it serves can tell you what changed. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.

Guatemala
Partnering with Ecofiltro, we purchased and delivered ceramic water filtration systems to three rural schools. Waterborne disease is among the leading causes of child mortality in Guatemala, these filters put safe drinking water directly where children learn.
3 rural schools served
Kenya
We constructed a solar-powered borehole providing renewable clean water indefinitely, and dramatically reducing the distance women and children previously had to travel to fetch water every day.

Mexico
We constructed a rainwater harvesting system, and brought board-certified U.S. medical professionals to conduct preventative health screenings alongside the water project, pairing clean water with healthcare access.

Ghana
Our largest project yet: a solar-powered borehole now serving 15,000 people. Waterborne illness in the community has dropped significantly, and the system supports long-term community development. This work is ongoing.
